Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the services provided by Britain Electronic, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Services Provided

Britain Electronic provides professional electronic services including but not limited to:

  • Equipment repair and maintenance
  • Network installation and configuration
  • Security system design and installation
  • Custom circuit design and prototyping
  • Technical consultation services

3. Service Agreements

All services provided are subject to individual service agreements that outline specific terms, conditions, pricing, and deliverables. These agreements take precedence over these general terms where applicable.

4. Payment Terms

Pricing and Invoicing

All prices are quoted in British Pounds (GBP) and are subject to VAT where applicable. Payment terms are typically 30 days from invoice date unless otherwise specified in the service agreement.

Late Payment

Late payment charges may apply to overdue accounts at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily from the due date.

5. Warranties and Guarantees

We provide warranties on our services as follows:

  • Repair services: 90-day warranty on parts and labour
  • Installation services: 12-month warranty on workmanship
  • Custom design services: 6-month warranty on design specifications

Warranties are void if equipment is modified, misused, or damaged by external factors beyond our control.

6. Limitation of Liability

Britain Electronic's liability is limited to the value of the services provided. We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, or special damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business interruption
  • Damages caused by third-party products or services
  • Force majeure events beyond our reasonable control

7. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about requirements and existing systems
  • Ensuring safe working conditions at client premises
  • Obtaining necessary permits and approvals
  • Backup of critical data before service commencement
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations

8. Intellectual Property

All custom designs, documentation, and intellectual property created by Britain Electronic remain our property unless specifically transferred under a separate agreement. Clients receive usage rights for their specific application.

9. Confidentiality

We respect client confidentiality and will not disclose proprietary information without written consent. Clients are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding our methods, processes, and proprietary information.

10. Health and Safety

All work is conducted in accordance with UK health and safety regulations. Clients must provide safe working conditions and notify us of any specific hazards or safety requirements.

11. Cancellation and Termination

Service Cancellation

Services may be cancelled with reasonable notice. Cancellation charges may apply for work already commenced or materials ordered.

Termination for Breach

Either party may terminate the agreement immediately upon material breach by the other party, subject to reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach.

12. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or labour disputes.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

14. Data Protection

We comply with UK data protection legislation. Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated to existing clients. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

16. Entire Agreement

These terms, together with any service agreements and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior understandings.
